Purpose and Functions:
The opening and closing part of the gate valve is the gate plate, and the movement direction of the gate plate is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid. The gate valve is used as a cut-off medium. When fully open, the entire flow channel is straight. At this time, the pressure loss of the medium is minimal. According to the form of sealing elements, gate valves are often divided into several different types, such as: wedge gate valve, flat plate gate valve, parallel double gate valve, wedge double gate valve, etc. Gate valves are usually suitable for conditions that do not require frequent opening and closing and keep the gate fully open or fully closed.
Not suitable for use as a regulator or throttling device. By choosing different materials, it can be applied to water, steam, oil, nitric acid, acetic acid, oxidizing media, urea and other media.

Structural Features:
The gate has two sealing surfaces. The most commonly used one is that the two sealing surfaces of the gate form a wedge shape. The wedge angle varies with the valve parameters, usually 5°.
The sealing principle of the wedge gate valve is achieved by the tight combination of the two sealing surfaces on the wedge gate plate and the two sealing surfaces on the valve body when they are wedged together.
Wedge gate valves can be divided into rising stem gate valves (lifting stem gate valves) and concealed stem gate valves (rotating stem gate valves) according to the different ways in which the valve stem drives the gate plate to open and close.
Wedge gate valves can be divided into elastic gate valves and rigid gate valves according to the different gate structure forms.
The valve body is cast, the valve body and the valve cover are connected by bolts, and the middle flange is sealed by a wound gasket. Metal rings can also be used when customers have special requirements.
The channel is smooth and the flow coefficient is small. The sealing surface is less susceptible to erosion and erosion by the medium.
The sealing surface is made of alloy steel or carbide, which has good wear resistance and scratch resistance.
Using flexible graphite filler, the sealing is reliable and the operation is light and flexible.
The flow direction of the medium is not restricted, and it does not disturb the flow or reduce the pressure.
