The Installation of Industrial Ball Valves

The installation of industrial ball valves requires consideration of many aspects, including installation location, installation method, preparation before installation, etc. The following is a detailed introduction:

1. Installation location.

The ball valve should be installed on a horizontal pipeline. If installed on a vertical pipeline, the valve stem should be facing upward to prevent the valve core from sticking to the valve seat due to fluid pressure, causing it to fail to close properly. There should be enough space before and after the ball valve to facilitate operation and maintenance.

2. Installation method.

The installation methods of ball valves include threaded connection, flange connection, clamping connection, etc. The specific method depends on the model of the ball valve and the characteristics of the pipeline. Taking flange connection as an example, first clean the ball valve and pipe to ensure that there are no impurities and oil on the surface, then align the flanges of the ball valve and pipe, use flange bolts to connect them tightly, and tighten the bolts one by one. Apply a sealing gasket on the sealing surface between the ball valve and the pipe to ensure the smoothness and sealing performance of the sealing surface. Connect the stem head of the ball valve to the operating device to facilitate the operation of the ball valve. Finally, check whether the installation meets the requirements, such as flange connection. Whether the joint is tight and the sealing performance is good.

3. Preparation before installation.

Before installation, the oil stain, welding slag and other impurities in the pipeline should be removed, and the valve handwheel should be checked to prevent collision or impact to ensure that the valve will not be damaged during hoisting. If the valve is flanged, you also need to ensure that the sealing gasket used matches the ball valve and pipe, and the flange bolts need to be tightened symmetrically, successively, and evenly.

4. Special precautions.

When installing the eccentric semi-ball valve and exhaust valve, it should be carried out under the guidance of the manufacturer's technical personnel. The exhaust valve should be installed vertically and no tilt is allowed. After completing the installation, the operating mechanism and transmission device should be adjusted and tested to ensure that the valve operates normally.

In addition, before the project is delivered for use, a flushing test should be conducted on the valve installation section until the water contains no impurities and the valve can be used only after passing the test.
